新的iPhone SE手機於24日開放網上預購，最快在31日就會陸續出貨。如將蘋果在各國官網公布的售價換算成人民幣，iPhone SE 的16GB版本在美國售價399美元，相當於2,586元人民幣（下同），是首波開賣最便宜的國家，排名第2便宜的則是加拿大的2,872元，與香港的2,916元相差在伯仲之間。不過加拿大的價格尚未加上當地至少5％的消費稅，故若以消費者實際負擔的金額做比較，香港的iPhone SE售價有望成為全球第2低價。

大陸的iPhone SE最低售價則為3,288元，明顯低於iPhone 6s的5,288元，也是蘋果歷來最便宜的手機，反轉了過去只專注於高端市場的銷售策略。但對於價格敏感型的大陸民眾依舊偏高，已有不少大陸民眾表態願意到鄰近的香港購買，馬上就可以節省372元的差價。

市場分析認為，蘋果在2年前也曾採取低價策略推出iPhone 5c，最後卻慘澹收場，上市不到1年後隨即停產，成為產品生命週期最短的iPhone。而iPhone SE是否能夠跳脫5c的陰影、甚至帶領向蘋果下殺入大眾市場，對於iPhone SE來說可說是任重而道遠。
